ST Daniel Comboni Retreat Centre Namugongo
St. Daniel Comboni (1831–1881) was a Catholic missionary and bishop whose life was dedicated to the evangelization and human dignity of the African people. Born in Italy, he devoted himself entirely to the mission of Africa, guided by his visionary belief, “Save Africa with Africa.” His work emphasized faith, education, and empowerment, ensuring that local communities became active agents of their own spiritual and human development. Founder of the Comboni Missionaries and Comboni Missionary Sisters, his legacy of compassion, service, and respect for human dignity continues to inspire Comboni works across the world.
